Tree Stump Cabin Build: Surviving 5 Nights

Building a tree stump cabin in the wilderness was both a challenge and an adventure. Using only basic tools and natural materials, I carved out a small shelter atop a massive tree stump—high off the ground and surrounded by dense forest. Reinforcing it with wooden planks and moss for insulation made it surprisingly sturdy and cozy.

Over five nights, I relied on firecraft, foraging, and survival skills to endure the elements. Nights were cold, but the fire near the base of the stump provided warmth and protection. Wildlife roamed nearby, making every rustle in the dark feel amplified. Sleeping suspended above the forest floor was eerie at first, but eventually comforting.

The experience tested my resilience, resourcefulness, and mindset. Without modern comforts, I learned to appreciate simplicity and nature’s raw beauty. By the fifth morning, I emerged with a deeper connection to the wild—and a sense of accomplishment that only true survival can bring.
