Built a House of LOGS near the Stormy River. Start to Finish

Nestled beside the roaring Stormy River, my log house rose from forest beams and determination. First, I handpicked sturdy logs from the surrounding pines. Each was cut, peeled, and notched with care. Foundation stones were laid deep into the earth to withstand river floods. Walls took weeks to fit together like a wooden puzzle, chinked tight against the wind. The roof, cedar-shingled and steep, would shed winter storms. Inside, a stone fireplace became the heart. Through sweat and seasons, the log house stood—strong, simple, and rooted in nature’s rhythm. From forest floor to finished home—every beam told a story.
