Board and Batten Walls, Cedar Shake Roof, and a Stone Oven | We have no idea what we’re doing

In an ambitious DIY frenzy, we dove headfirst into building our rustic dream home—despite zero experience. Board and batten walls? Sounds simple enough… until you realize “straight” is subjective. The cedar shake roof looked charming—until we climbed the ladder. Each shingle a gamble. And the stone oven? A masterpiece of trial, error, and YouTube tutorials. This project is less about perfection and more about passion—and maybe a few fire extinguisher tests.
